When my father bought a set of barcelona chairs for his house, he never stopped bragging about this on how durable these chairs are. I raised no argument on this as I myself can validate his claim that the chairs are indeed durable and long lasting. I would often see him sit on the barcelona chair while reading books or newspapers with an arco floor lamp as his light source. He never complained of any discomfort while sitting on his chair until recently when he told me that the chair may need another layer of cushion. I told him that I would buy him another chair but he violently reacted and insisted that he will maintain his old one and just place another layer of cushion. My father was really stubborn at times so I had no choice but to give in to his demand. I just bought a cushion to be placed on his seat while I on the other hand bought a jacobsen egg chair for myself. Although I saw no need of buying one for me, it was one way I can show my father that she should use the egg chair instead. On the first few days, my father ignored the egg chair which I deliberately placed right beside his own chair until one day, I caught my father stealthily trying my chair and saw how he reacted when he sat on it. Since my father was a proud person, I don’t expect him to ask me to use my egg chair so instead of waiting for him, I told him that I had to repair something on his chair and for the meantime can use mine. Since then, my father had been using the egg chair and had intentionally forgotten his old one.
